Curry Leaves Chutney

Curry leaves chutney is very healthy and nutritious. It can be served with a variety of foods like parathas, rice, dosa, etc. 

Curry leaves aid digestion and thus one can chew curry leaves when having a tummy ache. It is especially good for preventing diarrhea. Curry leaves is beneficial for people with diabetes. Curry leaves taken with black pepper on an empty stomach can reduce blood sugar levels. They also help in skin care. Intake of curry leaves can promote clear and healthy skin.

1 cup curry leaves
1/4 cup urad dal (split black lentils)
1/4 cup chana dal (split bengal gram)
1 tbsp coriander seeds
2 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
salt to taste
1 tbsp sesame seeds (til)
1 tsp chilli powder
1/4 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
a pinch asafoetida
1 tbsp dessicated coconut


  • Dry roast all the ingredients, then transfer into a mixer and add chilli powder,salt, turmeric and asafoetida.
  • Then grind coarsely.
  • Store in an air tight container.
  • Serve with any kind of roti, paratha or rice along with oil or curd.
