Fenugreek leaves are considered as good appetisers. They heal mouth ulcers. An infusion of the leaves can be used as a gargle. A very good food for blood formation for adolescent girls to pregnant mothers. Thus, prevents anaemia. It also helps you lose weight and reduces dullness, dizziness and drowsiness.
Peanuts contain high level of polyphenols, which have strong antioxidant properties. Also, eating a handful of peanuts helps malnourished and underweight people.
2 cups chopped fenugreek leaves (methi)
1/4 tsp coriander seeds powder
1 tbsp roasted and coarsely powdered peanuts
1/4 tsp chilli powder
salt to taste
a pinch asafoetida
a pinch turmeric powder
1/2 tsp lemon juice
2 tsp oil
1/4 tsp mustard seeds
- Combine the fenugreek leaves, roasted coriander powder, chilli powder, salt, roasted peanut powder and lemon juice in a bowl and mix well.
- Heat the oil in a small pan and add the mustard seeds, turmeric and hing and add to the fenugreek salad.
- Serve immediately.
