This is a delicious mango spread that can be eaten with toasted bread, chapati, roti, etc. It is extremely easy to make and is delicious too! The cardamom powder adds a nice flavour to this spread. Mango and cardamom make a perfect combination! This flavoursome dish is a special sweet mango delight!
Raw mangoes are rich source of Vitamin C, thus it is helpful to cure bleeding gums. Eating piece of raw mango helps to overcome constipation, loose motions and indigestion. Eating raw mango with black pepper and honey helps in reducing stomach and liver related complaints.
Cardamom stimulates the digestive system and reduces gas. It can counteract excess acidity in the stomach. Its expectorant action improves circulation to the lungs and thus considered good for asthma and bronchitis.
Ingredients
1 cup grated mango
1 1/2 cups sugar
1/4 tsp cardamom (elaichi) powder
Method
- Take a heavy bottom pan and put sugar and grated mango and cook stirring continuously on low flame till done and the raw smell disappears.
- Then add cardamom powder.
- Mix well and serve or shift into a jar or bottle and refrigerate.

This sounds good. I actually hate eating mango but I find it makes gread spreads and chutneys. I’m going to try this with my sister.
