Radish Curry

Radish is very delicious by itself, but when besan (gram flour) and rava is added to the curry it becomes even more delicious and hard to resist! The gram flour and rava gives this a unique texture. This curry can be eaten wit chapati or any Indian bread.

The vitamin C in radishes is an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory, and has been shown to have a positive effect on asthma symptoms because of its anti-inflammatory properties.It relieves gastric discomforts.Radishes can be added to vegetable juice to spice up the flavor a little. In this form, they can help clear your sinus cavities and soothe your sore throat.

1 bowl Radish
2 tbsp oil
1/4 tsp mustard seeds ( rai / sarson)
a pinch asafoetida (hing)
1 tsp coriander-cumin seeds (dhania-jeera) powder
1/2 tsp chilli powder
1/4 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
salt to taste
1 tbsp rava
2 to 3 tbsp gram flour

1. Peel and chop the radish. Heat the oil in a deep pan and add the mustard seeds,turmeric powder and asafoetida and saute till seeds crackle.
2. Add the chopped radish and salt and cook covered for 10-15 minutes stirring occasionally.
Add gram flour and rava. Then, add the coriander-cumin seeds powder, and chilli powder. Sprinkle 2-3 tbsp of water and cook for 5 minutes.
4. Serve hot.
