This Maharashtrain dish is crunchy and aromatic, with a delicious taste! The irresistible aroma, delicious taste, and lovely crunch is sure to steal your heart! It is crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, with an amazing texture. It tastes best with green chutney, imli (tamarind/sweet) chutney, or ketchup.
Coriander is considered an aid to the digestive system. Coriander has pain-relieving properties and is useful for headaches, muscle pain, stiffness and arthritis. It is good for increasing appetite, and relieving nausea, diarrhoea, flatulence and indigestion.
2 cups coriander leaves, finely chopped
1 cup gram flour
½ tsp red chilli powder
½ tsp turmeric
½ tsp roasted coriander powder
½ tsp roasted cumin powder
¼ tsp garam masala
salt to taste
water as required
oil to deep fry
1. Take a large bowl and put besan, coriander leaves, salt, chilli powder, roasted cumin and coriander powder, garam masala and turmeric powder.
2. Mix well then add water as required to make a semi liquid dough.
3. Steam the dough for 15/20 minutes in a greased vessel. Let it cool. Then cut into square or diamond shape and shallow fry or deep fry till golden brown in colour from both sides.
4. Enjoy with green chutney or ketchup.
