Radish and Yellow Lentil Curry

This is an amazing curry, which is also very easy and quick to make. The naturally pungent taste of radish is accentuated by the ingredients used in this dish (ginger, spices, moong dal) making it delectable!

The vitamin C in radishes is an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory, and has been shown to have a positive effect on asthma symptoms because of its anti-inflammatory properties. It relieves gastric discomforts. It acts as expectorant and is stimulant.

2 bowls grated radish
1 tbsp copped coriander leaves
3 tbsp soaked yellow lentils
1 tsp chilli powder
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tsp coriander  powder
salt to taste
1 tbsp oil
1/4 tsp mustard seeds
a piece of ginger
a few curry leaves


  1. Heat the oil in a non-stick pan and add the mustard seeds, ginger, turmeric powder, curry leaves and yellow lentils and saute for a minutes.
  2. Add grated radish and cook for 5 to 10 minutes stirring occasionally.
  3. Add salt, chilli powder, coriander, and cumin seeds powder and mix and then cook for another two minutes.
  4. Serve hot with chapatis or rotis.
