Oats And Sesame Seeds Ladoo

This is a combination of dates, oats, til and cardamom powder which tastes extremely delicious! It is an amazing treat which is completely diabetic friendly and sugar-free. It is a very healthy ladoo that can be consumed during any time of the day as a healthy snack as well. It’s texture is soft as well as a little crunchy which makes it irresistible.

Sesame paste is a good source of essential fatty acids (EFA), these EFA’s are used in helping to maintain healthy skin. The good news is the majority of fats in tahini (til and water paste) are unsaturated rather than saturated. Tahini is a source of vitamin E which helps to reduce the rate of ageing in body cells. Sesame seeds are also a good source of the amino acid Methionine.

It is rich in soluble fibre, which helps lower blood LDL cholesterol. Oats are rich in Beta Glucan, a soluble fibre which dissolves in the digestive track forming a thick gel which binds excess cholesterol within the gut and prevent it from being absorbed in the body.  This gel slows down the pace at which food moves through our digestive track and keeping you feeling full for a longer time. Even better, it allows more time for nutrient absorption. You will eat less and your body will get better nutrients. It is great for those who are intolerant to wheat.

Ingredients
1 cup oats
1 1/4 cup til
15-16 dates (according to taste)
2 tsp dates syrup
1/4 tsp cardamom powder

Method
1. De-seed the dates, grind coarsely and keep aside.
2. Roast the til and oats separately and let it cool for 2 minutes.
3. Mix all the ingredients and grind in the mixer till it becomes soft.
4. Then, make ladoo (round balls). Serve or store in an air tight container.
