Healthy Lettuce And Spinach Salad

Happy New Year everybody! This is my first post of 2020. I hope you all have a wonderful and healthy year ahead ❤

This salad is a colourful and wonderful one, that is a feast to the eyes! It is extremely healthy and can be eaten at all times of the day since it is filling as well! The tanginess of the tamarind with the sweetness of the dates is the perfect combo. This recipe is filled with various flavours and textures that makes it a very delicious and wholesome dish that can be enjoyed as a side dish, breakfast or even main course!

Cabbage stimulates the immune system, kills harmful bacteria, soothes ulcers, and improves circulation. It has wonderful cleansing properties. Raw cabbage cleans the waste from the stomach and upper bowels which improves digestion and reduces constipation.

Lettuce is fat free and low in calories.It has vitamin C content which prevents oxidation of cholesterol in heart. It is an excellent source for Vitamin A and folic acid.

Ingredients
1 cup chopped lettuce leaves
1 cup chopped spinach leaves
4-5 spinach and lettuce leaves for serving
1 cup finely chopped tomatoes
1 cup finely chopped cucumber
1/2 cup finely chopped cabbage
1 tbsp tamarind paste
1 tbsp peanut powder
1 tsp chilli flakes
1 tbsp dried dates powder/dates paste
salt to taste

Method
1. Take a small bowl and add tamarind paste, red chilli flakes, peanut powder, dried dates powder/dates paste and salt. Mix well.
2. Add all the chopped vegetables. Mix well.
3. Serve in lettuce and spinach leaves. Enjoy!
